OOTD: Stripes Lot

Welcome back!

I have been really enjoying the combination of a classic fedora hat and long cardigan lately. I don't know why but it makes me feel completely feminine and totally bad ass at the same time. I also love my black pinafore, a timeless piece with a classic silhouette. This outfit was really comfortable and I wore it to run a few errands around town. Enjoy!

OOTD: Office Chic

Welcome back!

For those of you that don't know last month I started my full-time graduate job in an office. Now, that does mean that I won't be blogging as much but it also means handfuls of work wear posts! You win some you loose some... But don't get me wrong, I will be trying my very best to keep my beloved blog updated because I love writing and I love all of my readers.

Now on with the post! I wore this outfit to a regular day at the office. My office dress code is pretty casual but I still like to put effort into my outfit. I worked this ensemble around the newest addition to my wardrobe; my camel coloured coat. It is a staple in my autumn/winter wardrobe so expect to see it in more posts soon. I got it a few sizes too big because I wanted it to have that cozy, over-sized feel. I can't wait to to pair it with all sorts of combinations like chunky scarves, a-line skirts, floaty blouses and dungarees. Enjoy!

PURE London Fashion Weekend

Welcome back,

This month I got the opportunity to go to PURE London fashion weekend.

For those of you that don't know PURE London is a fashion event that is compiled of fashion shows, seminars, lectures and stalls/units containing this upcoming season's collections by designers big and small. The best thing about PURE is that anyone can go, you just apply via their website. I went as a student and had a great time browsing the expo.

I have attached a few photos of my favourite upcoming designers and trends for autumn/winter '15 that I cannot wait to try.

Firstly I want to talk about jewellery.

It seems like the large statement pieces from this summer are carrying over to autumn/winter. Silver is to be a common base this coming season complete with large rope and beaded designs. I love the simplicity of the necklaces above. I could see myself styling these with plain coloured turtle neck jumpers in the winter to add a little excitement to an otherwise rather normal outfit.

Heavily detailed Aztec inspired designs also dominated the stalls at PURE. I particularly loved the piece above. I would definitely wear this on a night out with my favourite LBD (little black dress). The earrings to the left also caught my eye, I love the bold shapes and unique designs. They are everything you would want in a statement earring- wear them with your hair up for even more impact. 

Overall I felt all the jewellery had a very exotic feel inspired by many different cultures, whether they were Indian, Aztec or Native American. They would all make amazing stand alone pieces or as layered pieces to intertwine designs and give a more bohemian feel like the image above.

Now let's get on to talking about a girl's favourite item to shop for. Bags!

One of my favourite bag designers at PURE was Claudia Canova. I had never heard of this brand until stumbling across their stall at the expo. All of their bags had a little pop of colour which makes a welcomed change from last years monochrome pallets. The patterns were also to die for. I really loved the eye motif that was printed on several different bags. The perfect way to spruce up your work wardrobe next season.

PURE also had some really beautiful clothing items. I would show you all my photos but this post would be the longest in the world if I did. Here are just a few of my favourites. 

There was a really small Spanish brand at PURE who specialized in leggings. These leggings were not just your basic black, they were made of a spandex/lyrca combination with amazing patterns and designs. The above skull and rose motif would look amazing with a plain crop top and trainers for a casual weekend. 

I also loved this more subtle pair. The muted grey in combination with the white and flower accents look positively chic. The cherry blossoms are so beautiful. The helpful lady at the stand also told me that each pair is handmade and the designs hand painted, making every pair unique. 

When at PURE I also normally find a few mannequins I like. Here are a couple. 

I thought I was sick of the monochrome trend but after seeing this outfit combination I fell in love with it all over again. I love the silhouette of the cinched in waist and slightly oversized t-shirt. The mesh on the neckline also adds a bit of texture which is needed in a black and white colour pallet. I could see myself rocking this look up London with a pair of black minimalist heels for a classic city chic look.  

Another trend I noticed at the expo was pastel, it seems the colour pallet has made a come-back this autumn/winter. I particularly enjoy the coral coloured lace dress above. The dress feels warm, flirty and perfect for a party. Pair it with some nude heels and simple accessories for an easy outfit combination.

The Clear Agency Press Day

Welcome back!

I was recently very lucky to get an invite to the clear agency's press day and since previous posts about press days have been quite popular I thought I would do another one. There was so much at this press day but I decided just to include a few of my favourite bits. Enjoy!

The first brand I was especially excited to be seeing was "This Is A Love Song". If you haven't heard of this brand you need to, now. Click here for their full site. All of their designs are inspired by pop culture so you are bound to find something that reflects your tastes. 

The accessories from TIALS were so beautiful I just wanted to snap all of them up. I particularly liked the boom box inspired clutches and jewellery. I could definitely see myself rocking one of their chokers and matching bracelets for a night out with a simple black or white dress. You may not be able to see by the photo but the patterns are all made up of tiny individual beads! Very impressive!

If I were to buy just one item from the TIALS range it would be the statement collared shirt to the far left of the above photo. Just think of the endless possibilities there are to a bold printed monochrome shirt. Buy it in a larger size for an oversized feel then pair it with jeans and your favourite high-tops, instant urban chic! 

The next brand definitely on my "to-watch" list would be the jewellery from Gina Stewart Cox. If you love simplicity in your favourite metals this is the brand for you. I love the simple profile of a lions head on a long delicate chain. Perfect for those days when you want to spruce up your look with minimal fuss accessories.  

The matching ring, bangle and earrings are just as gorgeous. I think they would add the perfect amount of detail to an outfit you just need to add a little something to. 

But if lion heads are not your thing you could always go for a american indian skull motif. I think these would look great at festivals, especially the roped necklace. 

Another one of my favourite brands at the press day was Unif. However due to their unique designs and copywrite I was not allowed to take photos. I do guarantee that their newest collection is out of this world, with amazing textures, a whole load of colours and just the right amount of sass! To check it out click here.

Urban Outfitters Press Day

Welcome back!

As you some of you may know, I am a personal assistant to a really lovely fashion stylist and as part of my job I get to go to a few press days and write about them for her. Recently I got a really amazing opportunity to go to the Urban Outfitters press day for their autumn/winter collections. It was really amazing and I am very grateful to have gone.

So I thought I would do a little post about it for you all, telling you all of my favourite bits and bobs. Enjoy!

I loved the fact that all of the womenswear mannequins were wearing fedoras. They make any outfit look chic, sophisticated and feminine and I can tell you all now I will definitely be purchasing many in an array of colours this upcoming season. All the mannequins were dressed in over-sized or larger coats which made me extra excited for the cozy feeling of autumn. I cannot wait to get my hands on the brown faux fur coat either! 

The above look was definitely my favourite. I love the warm colour pallet and the subtle geek chic vibe that the collared blouse and tailored shorts give off. The pattern on the layering cropped tank is simply to die for and I can see myself rocking this 70's vibes throughout the year. Lets just say this outfit is me, personified. Love!  

I have always enjoyed House of Holland but when I saw this button up a-line skirt (far right) I could feel my inner 70's chic fighting the urge to squeal with excitement. The different coloured panels and white buttons add a structured look so can easily be dressed up or down. I can see this piece paired with so many tops, from warm toned turtle necks with tights and boots to a simple peter pan collared shirt with knee high socks and brogues! And as for the furry clutches, how cute! I would definitely team these up with a colourful dress for a night out. They are so different and unique and not to mention soft. They are pretty large inside as well, you can also add a longer strap to turn them into sweet side bags too.  

More 70's chic. Sorry if you're over this trend but I'm really not. These shoes are so gorgeous and the shape is chunky, high but still really cutesy. I love the burnt orange silk ones, they could add such a nice pop of colour to any black outfit or texture to a otherwise flat outfit. As for the black velvet ones, they could pretty much go with my whole wardrobe day or night- definitely worth the investment. 

What autumn/winter wardrobe is complete without a backpack? As a student I would find this extremely handy on campus carrying around books and what not. I love the simplicity of this bag too; minimal metal details, one buckle and a drawstring, that's all you need. The matte black also gives any look a more modern vibe. 

Finally there was the intimate wear. I loved the sports-luxe bodysuit, with its clean cuts and mesh inserts. It would look amazing with any pair of high-waisted jeans or disco pants for a night out. As for the bralettes and matching panties they were all very delicate made up of lace and tiny embellishments. Simply classic and timeless.
