Drugstore Series: Naked Dupes Review

Welcome back,

A while ago now, I got some make-up from my parents. I already have the Urban Decay's 'Naked' pallets but I wanted a drug store dupe. I don't want to use my 'Naked' eye shadows every single day because they are so expensive and I want to keep them at the ready for more special occasions and events. So for my birthday my parents made my make-up dream come true.

My mum did very well finding the perfect dupes. She managed to pick up W7's 'In the Buff' and 'In the Nude'. 'In the Buff' is a perfect dupe for Urban Decay's 'Naked 1' and 'In the Nude' is pretty much the exact same colour pallet as 'Naked 3'. Below I snapped both of them together. The packaging for the two is very cute and chic, they both look very beautiful in my make-up collection and out on my dressing table.

W7 "In The Buff"

The pallet comes with 12 shadows and a two sided applicator. All of the tones are very warm and earthy, perfect to give your skin a natural glow and brighten the eyes early in the morning. The shadows are a mix of shimmer and matte shades just like the 'Naked 1' pallet. This makes it completely versatile and my go to pallet to take away on a long weekend.

My favourite shades are definitely on the far left hand side of the pallet. I'd say that these are the ones I use the most because they are very subtle, making them perfect for everyday wear. The shadows are well pigmented and do stay on all day as long as you have a decent primer on underneath.

Above I have swatched my four favourites. You can really see the difference in matte and shimmer shades here. Again, they are so well pigmented and versatile for drugstore shadows. Well done W7!

W7 "In the Buff"

'In the Buff' has 12 shadows and a two-sided applicator just like 'In the Nude'. Again, the shadows are a mix of shimmers and mattes. Above, I forgot to mention that the applicator is pretty good. One side is a simple sponge brush and the other a small fluffy blending brush.

My favourite shades in this pallet are again, the ones on the far left hand side. These shades are perfect for adding elements of femininity to any edgy make-up look. They also look beautiful on their own accompanied with mascara for a natural day-time look.

Above I have swatched my favourites. Like the 'In the Buff' shadows the 'In the Nude' shadows are very well pigmented and have amazing staying power as long as you have a primed base.

I have been pleasantly surprised with the quality of W7's pallets and would seriously recommend them to anyone who wants to find a cheaper alternative to the 'Naked' pallets. I tip my hat off to you W7, you are definitely the Queen of drugstore pallets!
